The Green Leader Scheme
This 9-month programme empowers 16–25 year olds who have completed Woodcraft, Wellbeing & Wilding to become the next generation of environmental change ambassadors in their communities.
Nature spaces are not only home to diverse ecosystems, but often act as places of refuge for nurturing inner and collective wellbeing. It’s crucial that we protect, nourish, and advocate for nature.
Our young people are creating change from the inside out. By developing practices for nurturing their inner wellbeing whilst deepening their connection to nature, young people can step into leadership and begin to support others to do the same – building community resilience and inspiring collective action for nature.

How might we use craft and creativity to create change?
Craft can be a powerful catalyst for collective environmental action. Green Leaders are guided to choose a type of traditional craft or hands-on creative practice and an aspect of nature which they care deeply about. Over the course of a 9-month learning journey, they explore forms of regenerative leadership and deepen their understanding of the environmental challenges faced by this area of nature, before stewarding novel ways of using craft and creativity as a tool for nature advocacy and connection.
We offer wraparound support tailored to each young person, including 1-1 sessions, leadership training, craft upskilling workshops and project development. Each young person on the scheme finishes their journey by carrying out a creative ‘green action’ which sparks environmental awareness and action within their own local communities.
Our young people are taking creative action to heal both ecosystems and communities alike.
