Our next Community Sundays take place on 15th March, 14th June, 9th August and 20th September.

At the Bristol Tree Craft workshop, which is located at Bridge Farm, Glenfrome Road, Bristol, BS16 1BQ. Once you get to the farm, you can find out how to get to us here.

The days run from 10.30am - 4.30pm, though you are welcome to come and go as you please, whether that’s staying for the whole time or just dipping in briefly. Lunch is served at 1pm.

Activities vary each time, though we always make sure there is a mix of things suited to different ages, needs and preferences. In the past, we have offered log sawing & splitting, drawkniving (traditional woodcraft), willow weaving, flower crown making, family whittling, gardening, still life drawing, oak mural carving, collaging and clay printing. This year we are expanding further to metalwork, wild pottery and tree planting.

We always have lunch prep/fire cooking as an additional activity, as well as a supervised kids arts & crafts area and a café serving hot drinks and cakes. People are equally invited to come along without having to join an activity - taking time out to relax with friends or by yourself in nature is just as welcome :)

All our activities are risk assessed and led by experienced facilitators. There will always be a first aider and first aid kit onsite, as well as a fire bucket and extinguisher. However, participants are ultimately responsible for their own safety, and will need to sign our Participant Agreement before entering, declaring they are fit to attend the day.

All ages are welcome! Please bear in mind that our workshop has limited physical accessibility, more details of which can be found here. Young children and babies are welcome, though parents/accompanying adults are responsible for their safety and need to fill out a participant agreement form on their behalf upon entry.

No! All activities and workshops are offered free of charge, including any materials. Lunch is also provided for everyone at no cost. 

However, if you are financially able and would like to support our Community Work , all donations are massively appreciated, and directly enable us to keep offering these opportunities to people who would otherwise not be able to access them.

The Nook Café will be serving teas, coffee & cake on a donation basis.

Lunch varies each time, but is always seasonal, vegetarian and gluten free. We cannot cater for more specific dietary requirements, but people are welcome to bring their own lunch/snacks should they wish to.

The café will serve a range of teas, as well as coffee and cake (GF/vegan options available).

Our workshop is perched on top of a hill looking out over the M32 and North Bristol - it’s a beautiful meeting point of urban and rural landscapes. 

Once you arrive, you will find a large green canvas structure with rugs, cushions, seating and The Nook Café inside. Outside, there is an open woodchipped area where some activities will take place, including a grassy triangle with a firepit and a small ‘Wellbeing Garden’ to one side. 

Elsewhere on the farm, there is much to discover! There is a small copse of ancient horse chestnut trees behind our space, and Pearl & Barley the pigs live in an enclosure right next door. They are very friendly and safe, and love being given a good scratch! Just please bear in mind that their fence is electric; it can be stepped over with care as it is only 20cm tall.

The nearest on street parking is on Averay Road opposite the main Bridge Farm entrance. You can also sometimes park under the M32. Both are unmetered and free.

Bikes can be locked to a bike rack at the bottom of the hill near the main farm entrance - capacity for this is limited to about 12 bikes. There are other places to lock bikes on the residential streets nearby, or people are welcome to bring them up to the workshop, but there are no locking points up there. Please bear in mind that we cannot take responsibility for your bike whilst you are here.

A sturdy pair of outdoor shoes/boots (please do not wear open-topped shoes or sandals if you intend to do any activities) are advised, and a raincoat is a good idea. We would also suggest bringing extra layers of clothing in the cooler months, and anything else you need to be comfortable. Drinks and snacks are available (see above), though you are also welcome to bring your own.

No. Whilst people do walk their dogs through the farm, these days are too busy for us to be able to accommodate dogs on site.
